Wedding Invitation Ground Rules

June 12, 2020 Pine Events Co.
Haute Stock Invite Suite

There are tons of considerations and logistics that go into picking, writing, addressing, and sending your wedding invitations, so we wanted to give a few preliminary pointers! If you just got engaged and therefore are only starting to think about your stationery, here are a couple of things to keep in mind from the get-go:

KEEP DELIVERY TIME IN MIND

• Make sure that your supplier can deliver invitation envelopes to you as early as possible, so you can get a head start addressing them.

ORDER EXTRA

• Mistakes happen, order at least a dozen extra invitations and envelopes [extra is you want a keepsakes for yourself and your family].

DESIGNATE A PERSON TO KEEP TRACK OF RSVP’S

• Since replies and gifts are normally sent to the return address on the envelop or with the RSVP, be sure that the person or people at that address — the bride, parents, or the couple — can keep track of responses and gift deliveries. Establish your system for recording all replies and gifts.

USE FULL NAMES FOR GUESTS

• For addressing, you need the full names and titles for all guests; be certain that spellings are correct. Make note of relationships ("Bob's mom's best friend," "Linda's fiancé") as you assemble your list; these details can be helpful when you greet guests whom you don't know personally, arrange table seating for the reception, and write your thank-you notes.
